Frequently Asked Questions
Once opened, store the chews in a cool, dry place, preventing contact with moisture.
If you’re storing the Yak Chew after your dog has chewed on it a bit, ensure the chews are fully dry before putting them away.
Wrap them in a paper towel or dry cloth.
If placing them inside the original packaging once wrapped, do NOT zip lock the bag shut, to allow ventilation.
Do not store fresh and chewed-on yak chews in the same place.
Yak Chews are hardened cheese chews, made from Yak Milk, Cow Milk, a hint of salt and a dash of lime juice. Our Yak Chewsies additionally have real blueberries / real coconut flakes for added flavour.
No Preservatives or artificial flavours are used in their making.
This entirely depends on how heavy a chewer your dog is. While some dogs are able to finish a whole yak chew in an hour (given the chance), some could day days or even weeks to finish it.
Although made with Yak & Cow milk, the lactose content is reduced to negligible amounts in the making process.
There are two things to consider here :
1) Calorie content. 100 grams of a Yak chew contains approximately 350-400 calories.
So consider this if your dog likes to finish them off in one sitting.
2) Entirely depends on how well your dog is able to digest the yak chews.
Ideally, it is recommended to take it away after 20-30 minutes of chewing, or when the Yak chew is half done (whichever is sooner!) and save the rest for another day.
When the yak chew becomes small enough for your dog to consume them whole, it's best to take it away to prevent a possibility of choking.
You can soak this last bit in water for 15-20 minutes, and microwave them for 45-60 seconds until it puffs up.
Let cool, and serve for their next treat session.
